Student Support and Guidance

Student Support and Guidance works in a preventative and supportive way to help students through their university studies, and thereby supports the education area of the university.

In co-operation with the departments, we strive for all students to be successful in their studies. We offer individual support and/or group activities for students, and inform and offer consultative support for department personnel, in the following areas:

  • Study and career guidance and study information. Our student reception desk functions as the ’main entrance’ for the university, in study related matters. The study counsellors offer individual study and career guidance for students and applicants.
  • Support in academic skills. The Academic Resource Center (ARC) offers student support in writing, reading, speech and study skills. ARC is located in the University Library premises.
  • Support for disabled students. We co-ordinate the pedagogic student support for the university.
  • Student-related cases of discrimination or harassment. We inform, give advice and investigate reports from students according to the Discrimination Act.
  • Swedish Scholastic Assessment Test (SweSAT). We administer the test in the county of Västerbotten and in Vasa, Finland.

You will find us at the 3rd floor in the Administration Building.
